Packing List should always include a copy of your Travel Insurance Policy.
Planning a trip abroad is always exciting and we think of the endless possibilities of relaxation and adventure, or opening up business opportunities and developing partnerships. People travel abroad for many different reasons and regardless for that reason, people NEED TO KNOW that your home country medical insurance MAY NOT COVER YOU you once you cross the borders.
We NEVER think of what can go wrong or consider, that even in the best health, incidences can arise. Your Travel Insurance can save you costly expenses that you would never have imagined or planned to happen on your trip.
Let us look at the TOP 6 Reasons to BUY Travel Insurance.
1. MEDICAL COVERAGE as result of Illness or Accident on your trip includes hospitalizations, emergency room, and ambulance coverage - Your Health Insurance is less likely to cover this when traveling abroad. CALL THEM and find out then call us. My client had a son run up a waterslide and slip and broke his jaw and a few teeth. Her policy covered their Emergency Room visit and some dental expenses.
2. TERRORISM EVENTS - A sensitive but very realistic topic. You can never plan for when the terror happens on your trip and at your destination. You can plan to have medical coverage to cover this. Fortunately, I have no clients that had to experience this.
3. POLITICAL EVACUATIONS - We certainly cannot control governments or uprisings. You can have coverage for evacuation home or to a non hostile country. This is more commonly a concern for my clients who travel for business all year round.
4. TRIP DELAYS - Environmental factors can ruin a trip and cause you to stay longer somewhere. I had a client stuck in Indonesia due to a volcanic eruption and zero planes were allowed in or out of Indonesia for two days. Her coverage helped pay for her additional hotel stay.
5. DEATH - Death is never planned, and does happen. Don't get stuck dealing with this alone and at your sole cost. Your Travel Insurance can help with the cost and help coordinate repatriations of remains or local burial while you grieve.
6. TRAVEL DOCUMENT REPLACEMENT - Your travel will reimburse some cost and help coordinate replacements of documents with their 24 hour travel assistance programs.
